ZeroTrack Privacy Policy
ZeroTrack (“ZeroTrack”, “the app”) is an offline expense tracker designed so your data stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed, where it is stored, and what choices you have.

Key points (summary)
- No accounts / no servers: ZeroTrack does not provide user accounts, cloud sync, or a backend server for your expense data.
- No tracking: ZeroTrack does not use advertising SDKs, third‑party analytics, or crash reporting.
- Offline by design: Your expense data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database.
- You control export/import: If you choose to export or share a backup, your device's share sheet opens and you choose the destination (e.g. Files, Drive, iCloud). ZeroTrack does not upload your data in the background.
Information the app stores on your device
ZeroTrack stores the following locally on your device:
- Expense data you enter (for example: amounts, dates, categories, and optional notes)
- App settings (for example: currency, theme)
- Security settings (for example: whether you enabled app lock)
Encryption and security
- Database encryption: On Android and iOS, the database is encrypted using SQLCipher.
- Passcode-derived key: If you enable app lock, a database key is derived from your passcode (PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256) and used to open the encrypted database.
- Biometric unlock (optional): If you enable biometric unlock, a database key may be stored in your device's secure storage and released only after successful biometric authentication (depending on your OS capabilities).
No security measure is perfect. We recommend enabling device lock and keeping secure backups you control.
What we collect / receive
What we do not collect automatically
ZeroTrack does not automatically collect:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Advertising identifiers
- Precise location data
- Usage analytics
- Crash reports
Information you may provide voluntarily
If you contact us (for example, by email), we will receive the information you choose to share, such as:
- Your email address
- The content of your message and any attachments (which may include personal data if you include it)
We use this information only to respond and provide support.
Data sharing
ZeroTrack does not sell, rent, or share your expense data with third parties because it does not receive that data.
If you use Export / Backup features, you may share an encrypted backup file using third‑party apps or services that you select (for example, cloud storage). In that case:
- The third party's privacy practices apply to the file after you share it.
- ZeroTrack does not control or have access to that third party's systems.
Permissions and device access
ZeroTrack aims to request minimal access:
- Biometrics / device authentication: used only if you enable biometric unlock.
- File access (import): when you import a backup, the app uses the system file picker to let you select a file.
- File access (export): export uses the system share sheet; you choose where to save/share.
ZeroTrack does not request location permissions and does not need an internet connection for core functionality.
Data retention
- On-device data: remains on your device until you delete it (for example via app "reset"/uninstall or manual deletion, depending on platform behavior).
- Support communications: if you email us, we retain correspondence as long as reasonably necessary to address your request and for basic record-keeping.
Children's privacy
ZeroTrack is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights and choices
Because your expense data stays on your device, you can generally exercise control directly by:
- Deleting data in the app or uninstalling the app
- Exporting/importing backups you control
If you contact us, you can request that we delete support communications where applicable, by emailing us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we ever introduce a feature that would send data off-device (for example optional cloud sync), we will update this policy and describe the change in release notes before or at the time the feature is made available.
